How Many Episodes Are in Lupin Part 4?
🎬 How Many Episodes in Lupin Part 4?
All eight episodes are released together, with no weekly wait. Each episode runs approximately 45 minutes, making it ideal for a weekend binge-watch.
There are eight Lupin Part 4 episodes, and Netflix released all of them at once. There is no weekly schedule, so you can watch the whole season in one weekend.
That makes Part 4 the longest Lupin season so far. Parts 1 and 2 had five episodes each, and Part 3 had seven. Each new episode runs about 45 minutes, so the full season takes roughly six hours to watch.
What Is Lupin Part 4 About?
The story picks up four years after the end of Part 3. Assane Diop, played by Omar Sy, is still in prison. He has kept his head down, and his plan is simple. He wants to finish his sentence and then join his family in Senegal.
That plan falls apart when a string of daring museum robberies hits Paris. The thief signs the crimes with one name: Lupin.
The evidence points straight back at Assane, even though he is sitting in a cell. Worse, the copycat seems to understand his methods as well as he does. One of the robberies leaves a police officer injured, which raises the stakes for everyone.
So Assane does what Assane does best. He breaks out. His goal is to clear his name, find the impostor and protect the people he loves before the copycat destroys everything he has built.
For longtime fans, that setup turns the series on its head. For three seasons, Assane was always one step ahead of everyone else. In Part 4, someone appears to be one step ahead of him.
Netflix has described the season as full of new twists, big cons and emotional moments. Early footage shows Assane riding a horse through the streets of Paris in his trademark long coat, so expect the show’s usual mix of style and spectacle.

Lupin Part 3 Recap and Ending Explained
🎭 Lupin Part 3: Key Moments
What message did Pellegrini send to Assane?
Part 3 premiered on Netflix in October 2023. If you need a refresher, here is a quick recap, with the Lupin Part 3 ending explained.
At the start of Part 3, Assane was in hiding and had faked his own death. He returned to Paris and pulled off a very public heist, stealing a famous gem called the Black Pearl.
Things turned personal when his mother, Mariama, came back into his life. She had been missing for about 25 years. Soon after she reached Paris, she was kidnapped by Jean-Luc Keller, Assane’s old mentor in crime. Keller wanted revenge, and he used Mariama to blackmail Assane into a series of heists.
To save his mother, Assane teamed up with the man who had spent years trying to catch him: detective Youssef Guedira. Together they set a trap for Keller and rescued Mariama.
Then came the twist. Assane kept a promise he had made to Guedira and turned himself in to the police. He agreed to give up his freedom on a few conditions. His friend Benjamin, who had been arrested during one of the heists, would go free. Assane would get the chance to explain himself to Claire. And he would be allowed to keep his collection of Arsène Lupin books in his cell.
In the final scene, Assane sat behind bars and received an envelope from the inmate in the next cell. That neighbor was Hubert Pellegrini, the powerful businessman Assane had exposed in the first two seasons. The season ended before viewers learned what was inside.
That unanswered message is one of the big questions the new season has to deal with.

Why Lupin Became a Global Hit
Lupin is loosely inspired by Arsène Lupin, the gentleman thief created by French writer Maurice Leblanc in 1905. In the show, a young Assane is given a Lupin book by his father, Babakar. After his father is falsely accused of a crime he did not commit and dies in prison, Assane uses the tricks from those stories to seek justice.
The mix of clever heists, family drama and a story about class and race in modern France struck a chord far beyond France.
When Part 1 launched in January 2021, an estimated 70 million households watched it in its first four weeks. It became the first French-language series to reach No. 1 on Netflix in several countries, including the United States. Omar Sy’s charm in the lead role was a big reason why.

A Money Heist spinoff about a jewel heist in Paris, with romance and a new crew.

A modern detective series packed with puzzles, disguises and a brilliant, confident hero.

Finished the season already? These series offer the same mix of clever plans, chases and big personalities.
Money Heist. The Spanish thriller about a gang robbing the Royal Mint of Spain is one of Netflix’s biggest non-English hits. Like Lupin, it is built around a mastermind who always seems to have a backup plan.
Berlin. This Money Heist spinoff follows fan favorite Berlin and a new crew as they plan a jewel heist in Paris. It is lighter and more romantic than the original show.
Call My Agent! If you enjoyed Lupin’s Paris setting and want something funny instead of tense, this French comedy about a busy talent agency is a cult favorite.
Sherlock. The BBC’s modern take on Sherlock Holmes shares Lupin’s love of disguises, puzzles and a hero who loves to show off. Fittingly, Maurice Leblanc even pitted Arsène Lupin against a thinly disguised Sherlock Holmes in his original stories.
Inside Man. Spike Lee’s 2006 film starring Denzel Washington and Clive Owen is still one of the smartest bank robbery movies ever made, and a perfect pick for a heist night.
Do You Need to Watch Earlier Parts First?
It helps. Part 4 builds on events and relationships from the earlier seasons, especially the end of Part 3. Viewers who start here will be able to follow the main mystery, but they will miss the history between Assane, Claire, Benjamin and Guedira.
If you are short on time, watch at least the final two episodes of Part 3. They set up Assane’s arrest and the envelope from Pellegrini that hangs over the new season.
All earlier parts are available on Netflix in the US, UK and Europe. You can watch in the original French with subtitles or with English dubbing. Many fans say the French version with subtitles feels more natural.
Will There Be a Lupin Part 5?
Netflix has not confirmed a Part 5 yet. There is also no sign that Part 4 is meant to be the final chapter.
Netflix usually waits to see how a new season performs before it orders another one. Lupin has been one of its biggest non-English shows, so another season is possible if Part 4 draws a large audience. We will update this story when Netflix makes an announcement.
